The header provides with many options that you can customize to change the way how your header looks across your store.

This includes your logo and your top navigation.

Apart from that you can add tagline for your store and add announcement bar too.

Now you may ask what is announcement bar, in simple words announcement bar lets every visitor see your important news or any updates related to your store.

For example, you are providing Free Shipping Worldwide then you can put that message in the announcement bar and every person that visits your store will see that message.

Customizing the Footer

Like the header, any customization you make in the footer will display sitewide.

You can find the footer edit option below add section.

In the footer edit option, you can add the pages, terms & conditions, etc. that will show up at the bottom of your store.

Editing individual sections

You can also customize each section of your store just by clicking the section you want to customize. When you click on the section the preview will scroll to the display of your current editing section.

The options will vary depending on the section you choose to edit.

When you are done with the edit, click save button.

Moving a section

Shopify automatically orders the sections you add, with the new sections being tacked on to the bottom of the list.

You can customize the order of the sections too. Click the 6 dots on the right side of each section and drag them accordingly. This way you can bring them into order as you feel the best

In the typography option allows you to change the font style, font-weight, and font scale for the heading and the base of your store.

You can find the typography option in Theme setting.

If you are not satisfied with the color combination of your store you can change that too. Just click on the Color option and change the color of the store according to your needs. You can find the Color option in the Theme setting along with typography.

Social Media

We know social media’s power to make things go viral. Don’t we? And Shopify solves that too.

The Social media option lets you decide which social share buttons to include in your site with fields to customize the links for each of your social media channels.

With this let’s conclude the Theme customization part.

Adding Pages

The next thing you need to do for your store is pages. Those include your:

  • FAQ
  • About Page
  • Privacy Policy
  • Terms and conditions
  • Return Policy
  • Shipping Policy

To Create pages click on Online store of your left menu and then click on pages.

From there, enter the title of your page and write the description until you are satisfied with the writing.

And if you are interested in SEO, you have the option to change the meta description, description, and URL, so you can specify what you want the search engines to see.

Once you are happy with all those, hit save.

Repeat this process for all the pages you need.

But if you lazy like me and want automated templates for Privacy Policy, Terms, Conditions, and Refund Policy.

Shopify comes with a solution to it.

Click on setting on the left menu and go to legal and now click on Create templates. And then hit the save button.

Disclaimer: You do need to check the policies and modify it according to your needs.

Isn’t that easier than it seems?

Setting navigation

Once you are done with creating collections and adding pages, it’s time to move on to navigation settings.

Now you are going to specify how you want to set your main menu and collections.

Follow these steps to set your navigation.

  • Click on ‘Navigation’ on the left-hand menu.
  • Click on the Main menu and click on Add menu item. After that click on Link and select the items you want to show in your Main menu.
  • For adding the policies in the footer (or the bottom of your store), go to Footer menu and click on Add menu item. Now click on Link and select policies. Add all the policies that you need. Now to add the About page goto page and select About page.

And boom you are done setting with all the policies and navigation of your store.

Set Up Payment gateways

Now let’s head up to setting up the payment methods.

You can find Payment options just by clicking Settings on the left menu, then clicking Payment.

Shopify payment enables Paypal as the default payment method but if you want to use other payment providers or accept other modes of payment, you can set everything on this page.

After the latest update of Shopify, it started accepting various payment methods like ePay, PayU Money, etc.

Apart from those it also started accepting Bank Deposits and Cash on Delivery. Isn’t that great for drop shippers?

You can now expand your business with other modes of payments.

Also note that while Shopify Payments is enabled, Shopify will only be able to transfer the money in your bank account. As for Paypal, the company will email you whenever you make a sale with instructions on how to set up Paypal Merchant account.

To prevent spam comments you can go to discussion setting and activate comments must be manually approved.
